What brand CDs are you using, and what program to write them? Somewhere I heard that the program can make a difference in what players play them. Ive used Roxio and Adaptec, with no results on many brands of CD-Rs.
A note about the backlight coloring... you can change it... there are small covers on the bulbs behind the face that you can swap from your OEM headunit. EXCEPT for the lighting behind the display... the bulbs are between the display and the PC board, so you cant get to them. (well, you can, but it requires removal of the entire display... which would take a good amount of electronics experience) So you can make the button backlight match your dash, and just the display will be the pale green... I did that in my moms car (she has a 97 CL and I put that cd deck in there) and it looks really nice actually.
Okay... So I removed the cover off of my old head unit and found those little bulb covers you are talking about. There are six of them. Do you remember how many are needed in the stereo that is getting the swap? I'm gonna have to pull the stereo out this weekend to do that bracket, but if there are more bulbs than old covers, I'd rather not yank the face off. Thanks in advance!
