what year is your lude? The reason you can probably only find adapters is that certain years of preludes are cable shifted instead of having a full on shifter that plugs right into a gearbox. If it is cable shifted then the only thing you will be able to find is an adapter. I'm pretty sure that's right. If I'm mistaken, will someone set me straight? I had an adapter on my 93 that worked well. I don't think there is anything wrong with adapters as long as you get a good one and install it right
i know 4th and 5th gen ludes are cable shifted. there is a full on shifter though for a 4th gen, something that replaces the OE shifter. for the 5th gen nothing has been made yet. it's adapters or bust, unfortunately.
i'm using an adapter and it's got it's good points and bad points. not worth more than $20 though, imo.
