hey everyone, i love my rex and i dont want to get rid of it. I have an 87 dx that had a civic 1500 dx d15a2 carb motor in it..... the timing belt snapped, bents vavles and holes in the piston heads.... I was planning on a motor swap but now i need the help with info= what can i put in here? someone told me either zc from a 86-87 integra or a b16 and head over to hasport with a bag of money for motor mounts. I dont have a lot of cash at the moment so im look at a motor/trannie for around 400-1200. heres another problem, i live in maui HI and motors are kinda difficult to come by, its around 300 to ship in from cali, which i would like to avoid, but i'll do if possible. could i drop an si mootor from a 88-95 hatch, copue, or sedan (civics)? the carb motor had around 60 HP and I would like a good 110-130 HP in there. a lot of people are telling to sell the 87 rex and buy a 88 and up. I kinda dont want to because you really dont see that many hooked up 87 body style rex's out here.... I need input, all you honda heads.... please help out a newbie to swapping. thankx for looking also.
