I was goin like 50 mph I felt my car slip perhaps maybe on some black ice cause it has been really cold here and there has been few snow storms. I visited my car today and was able to start it, and I could move it back and forth. The doors opened fine. Peeking through the hood I could see that my engine was fine. The right rear quarter panel was damaged. There is a tree imprint in the front of the car. And both fenders are damaged. As for the interior the sunroof button is broken and both airbags are out. The dash wasn't damaged or cracked. An estimate is supposed to be done tomorrow or the day after. I talked to the shop guy and he said if I asked for aftermarket parts or maybe skipped some inconsquential body damage the car then it can be salavaged. But as I looked at the car i think it can be repaired.

But if there is frame damage is it repairable by taking it to a frame shop? Or does frame damage automatically make the car a "total loss?" The guy also said that if my car damage is over the value of the car, even by a dollar then it is considered a total loss. My car is a 2001 GS-R coupe with approx 41,000 miles. I'm thinking the car is worth at least $15,000 dollars and I don't think the damage of the car is going to cost that much.
