That's a common CF hood fitment issue, more so with certain FI hoods. From everything I have gathered, the latch and hinges should definitely be adjusted first. I had actually taken out my latch and extended the holes on the mounting to make the latch go even higher. The only way to really fix the gapp issue is by getting hood pins.
