In your deep study of mechanics, you seem to have neglected your other studies...including spelling...
But yeah, I would vote for the manual every single time. Better reliability as far as Honda transmissions go, better mileage, less parts, more concentration on the actual driving, more fun.
Worst case scennario: total transmission failure. The manual is STILL cheaper to replace than the auto. I don't know what her dad is thinking.
