yeah i'm with rich on this one. Atkins is only good if you want to shed some pound relatively quickly. it's not a long term solution or even effective in the long run.
my coworker who weighs 290lbs got a radical surgery. basically they put a little thing at the top of the stomach to adjust the flow of food. The doctor can adjust how much food can flow with a well a special screw driver.
He has lost nearly 80 pounds in the past 6 months. He lost about 30 pounds in the first two months and then he lost the others more gradually.
at the same time he is eating better and getting more exercise (walking)
his off road truck tire belly is now about the size of a full size spare. a huge difference. He can almost see his toes he told me
so for some people there are more drastic measures you can take. no one thing will work for everyone. that's the beauty of us humans we are very different yet so alike.
