I had this prob too...

You can reencode the mp3 file using "CDex", it is freeware.

It is by far the most usable and configurable mp3 program I have come across...

I recently ripped about 500 CD's using Cdex onto my server, and only a few had issues...

When I get MP3's from friends, I usually re-encode them to my specs...

The only thing to remember is the bitrate, you can always re-encode to a lower rate, but never to a higher...
