That being said, I wonder if its another case of the TiVo syndrome - where you think its not "that useful" when you don't have one, but can't do without it once you get it.

My view on the Navi is this: If you travel outside of your county more than once every 2 weeks, get it. It's extremely useful. My dad constantly has to go to different states for his job, and one of the main reasons why he wants a TSX instead of a TL is because he can't afford the TL and the Navi. All you have to do is play with the navi for 10 minutes in a demo car and you'll understand why it's so vital to travelers...not only will you be able to easily find local ATM's, restaurants and other points of interest, but you'll never get lost. It'd also be awesome for road trips or when you just decide to take a trip to nowhere just to drive the car, then when you get sick of it you can turn on the navi and have it take you home.

I would kill for a factory Navi system in my Accord...and the Honda navigation system is not buggy at all. Unlike airport rental systems, it won't mysteriously put you in a different state all of a sudden because a cloud passes overhead or not show the road you're on. The Honda system is regarded as perhaps the best in the industry. But ultimately, whether or not it's "worth it" is all up to you...$2000 is a lot, but the wow factor and the convenience of it makes it more than worth it to many.
