header fitment
I'm sick and tired of buying headers that don't fit my engine. I first bought some DC headers that they claim fits any B-series. Well, the headers were a little dented on the bottom so when I put it on the engine, it didn't clear the oil pan. I thought, since the header was hit on bottom, it might have bent the header upward causing the header to not clear my oil pan. So I had a muffler shop bend the header down a little bit to clear it. Now recently, I just bought some DC headers again (they also claimed it fit any B-series motor) and this time there is no hit on the bottom. But when I go to install it, the damn thing doesn't clear my oil pan again!!!! So it leads me to conclude that when people say it fits all B-series motor, they are lying. I haven't measured oil pans, but I'm pretty sure the Type R oil pan is bigger than the B16 or B18. I'm still looking for any type R header (used - I'm not rich) if anybody wants to sell to me. But it makes me angry to know I wasted $250 bucks for nothing when I could've used it to buy a brand new JDM Type R header instead of buying two used headers that don't even fit correctly.
