Few questions:

I want to put in a new timing and waterpump. How difficult is this if you have the timing gun? How long will it take a novice? The car place quoted me $290 for timing and waterpump.

What else shall I replace just to do some maintenance?

Thanks!
If I were you, I would replace the following unless you know when it was replaced last:

Cap, rotor, plugs
fuel filter
timing belt and water pump
air filter
tranny oil
engine oil and filter

I would also inspect the brake pads and rotors to see if they need to be replaced.

I would also adjust your valves.

You can do all of this yourself. Just search this forum, get a good repair manual like helms (there is an online version on the sticky above this post.) and you will need tools if you do not have them already.
