sure if you mat over those wires, it's easier...but you will get less of the mat on the actual door panel. The goal is to get the weight of the mat attached to what will rattle and vibrate - the door!
I Don't remember what car you have, but there can't be THAT much wiring on there. Pull all the wiring off the door and then work the mat on there. Put the wiring back as needed. I'd try to put some mat behind the driver too though....if you have leftovers, etc...
