I have some of the caspers shields, and they are probably the best ones you can get if you are going to implant HID into a H4 housing. Unfortunatly, even with a good adapter the civic headlights are still pretty badly glaring. The beam pattern is somewhat narrow, but even and well flowing with the caspers shields.. the main problem is just excessive light flying high and annoying other cars (even with the good shield it does this). You will also lose your high beams.
I had my set of shields anodized black, so less yellow reflects upwards and you get a little more of a blue'ish looking light, but it didn't help the glare situation. The end result for me was to retrofit xenon projectors, then build a better set with xenon projectors. Once you go drive in a OEM xenon projector car, it will change your perspective on HID.. The housing and aiming device means the world, the bulb itself means far less then you'd expect.
