The screwed up, and I didn't take a test I needed, so that screws me over, big time. That just about kills any chance of me being a pilot.
In addition, b/c my vision, my chances would be highly diminished to get into flight training. I have to get the PRK to compete. As a cadet, I have to get the proceedure THEN apply for a waiver. If I don't get the waiver, then I don't commission :eek3:
You have to apply for a waiver 12 monthes after the surgery. I MAY be able to get catagorized this time next year, b/c I'm graduating a semester late.
I'll find out in the next week if I will ever have the opportunity to be a pilot

Now, as active duty, you apply for the waiver, then get the proceedure.
Yeah that is a lot of stress but I am sure you will get the position you want and if not then make the best of the position you get.
I don't know if you have been through the training or not but I know a lot of people who qualify through the physicals etc. get washed out in the actual training because of various reasons. Its not an easy position at all but I am sure if you want it and can get past the screening then you will do fine.
Just take it a day at a time and don't worry so much about it (I know easier said than done at this point) but I have faith in ya.....my favorite warhawk needs to fly
