"straight-edge" isn't an established philosophy or religion, etc. It's just the ideas of a few people that spread and spread. Others have adapted it to their own lives.
It also refers to promiscous sex, not just sex in general. I'm not out banging a different girl each night of the week. Straight Edge isn't a set law or guideline. It's like religions that believe in the same God, but have different ways of living it. So I don't believe in no sex, sue me. That's not what sXe is about. It's about living a lifestyle that will not pollute your body with toxic substances.
My solution since I don't abstain: condoms.
