America as a nation is arguably the most powerful, but by no means should we play global police. Any country that believes in democracy, freedom, and justice for all should never make arbitrary decisions on a global scale, that can be saved for the world dictators of fiction. We need to have checks placed on our power to avoid becoming (more of) a world dictator and tyrant. America can (and perhaps will) conquer the world if gone unchecked, and I feel that giving one nation complete world power needs to be avoided at all costs or history books will one day talk about an allied force overthrowing a too power-hungry America.
