my heatshield started rattling about two months ago. Basically, one of the sides had come loose (it was shaped like a "C" instead of like a "O" like how it should have been). The two sides were rattling against each other, and it was really annoying. Basically, all I did to fix it was take a few pieces of heavy duty picture frame wire and wrapped them completely around the heat shield about every 3 or 4 inches. Then I just took a pair of pliers and twisted the ends of the wires until they began tightening around the heat shield. Eventually, they were so tight that they held the shield back into its original position. Then I just clipped the excess wire off the ends and the problem was solved.
