My grandma has a '91 Chevy Lumina with probably ~45k miles on it tops. She lives in Chicago and for most things she takes the bus, but she drives to certain places and the car does get used on a fairly regular basis. Maybe a few times a week.
My parents have a '96 Chrysler Town & Country that has about 62k miles on it. It was primarily my mom's daily driver for a while and now my little brother drives it to school. It has always been used on a daily basis but aside from the occasional family road trip it generally only is driven on short trips around town. Well actually now that I think about it in two summers that I've worked at a summer camp near home I had the thing as my primary vehicle and put a good 6-7k miles on it in my assorted driving around.
Anyway, the point is that just because a car has unusually low mileage on it doesn't mean that it never gets used.
