G5 is perfectly fine for 99% of the people. I was looking for more and at the time the only camera that fit the job description was the Nikon D100 which was $1600 for the camera body.

Then WiLL showed me that the Canon Digital Rebel was going to come out and I read the specs and the reviews and it was a very good fit for my needs and the price was perfect.
