I got my 5G EX Coupe for $600 because the motor was blown. Find a deal like that or where the motor is in shit condition for cheap and then still try to talk them down on the price.

I would stick with 5th Gen though (personal preference) and just hunt for one that hasn't been taken care of mechanically and you could still have enough left over for a swap.
