Here's where I put mine. Call it what you will, but my CX didn't come with one stock and shift lights are wonderful. I just laid the tach in place, marked the front of the bracket with a pencil, pulled the cover, lined everything up and drilled the holes, attached the mounting frame with 2 short bolts and some washers and a nut on the inside to keep it secure then bolted the tach back inside. Held securely and worked great. I had to unbolt the tach from the mounting frame and just lay it across the dash when I got the car inspected because it blocked access to the sticker but that was the only issue I ever had.
