Can't be your crank pulley, because it's not dampened. It's a 1-piece pulley. And you don't want to go trying to take that thing off.

No, it's not your timing belt. That has teeth on it. It could be your timing belt tensioner pulley, but it's less likely than another engine accessory or bearing.

Your accessory tensioner pulley could be going bad. If your accessories are overtightened, then the belt puts a huge load on the accessory tensioner's bearing, and it will go bad faster. It's not good for your alternator, ac and power steering (if equipped) pumps, either.

Whatever it is, it's going to get hot. Feel around until you burn yourself. watch out for the exhaust crap. I'd start with the distributor (for risk of further damage), then the accessory tensioner pulley (most likely), then the accessories.
