its really common sense, yes higher RPM puts more stress on engine internals.

how much of a difference depends on the setup, and exact driving conditions. Its hard to give an exact answer i suppose.

That is why if you are driving your car in extreme conditions, you must be proactive to prevent problems and replacing worn out parts. If you do that, then the high loads shouldnt be a huge worry.
