Default a Nissan guy aksing a question

Hey I don't really browse these forums and I drive a Nissan but I just have a question for you Honda ppl:

Since you guys depend so heavily on higher revs to making more power - how much can revving higher reduce engine life?

I was talking to a friend about his type S and recommended the Toda spec As w/ the ECU reprogram but he did no want to because he says it will put too much stress on the internals.

I know that this is generally accepted as common knowledge, the higher RPMs the engine operates at the shorter it will last, but can any1 give me some more info from experience how much significant difference does it make?

Thanks. Just wanting to learn more about stuff in general.
