well the only downside to the new STi is that its a new engine, and most of its potential problems are just that...potential. I've heard people say they've chosen the EVO over the STi just for the fact that the 2.5 is new. Comparing it to the evo with the 4G63 isn't exactly fair, seeing as how the 4G63 has been around for awhile, but its reliability is proven.
