In NJ, all you have to do is talk to the prosecutor before you see the judge. Just give the prosecuter a story and just say you don't want any points on your license. They usually just give you a fine and court fees and lower the points if the original violation was high. That is what I have done in my experience. One time I just kept calling and rescheduling the date of appearence like 5 times. Then I finally went in and the prosecuter just said forget about it and I left with nothing! Kick ass day! I postphoned it for over a year.
