I put a bit of oil in the new filter and also dab some oil on my finger and then rub it onto the rubber ring on the outer edges of the filter. This helps it to seal imo.

Be sure to use a good filter like OEM Honda, Mobile1 or something of that nature. FRAM filters (I've been told) suck.
