A powerful lightweight roadster the Solstice is not! According to a press release from GM, the Solstic will be powered by the 2.4L Ecotec engine also found in the Cobalt and Malibu that puts out 170hp @ 6400 and 170lbs/ft @ 4400. Curb weight is 2,860 lbs. Sounds like Lutz really misled us all on this one. Of course, I'm sure a tuned version with a supercharged engine will show up eventually, but nowhere near the $20k target price. The press release is below:
