you can do what they said.. if the coloring is different where you'll need to keep the ex one, you can also roll the odometer back by take it out.

i did both. the first time i just swapped the speedo portion from my dx to the lx cluster i bought.

when i switched again to the si cluster, i had to roll the odometer to match my previous one since the guage itself is a different color.
