yah replaced it went to a specialty import store (specialized in vw bugs actually) in order to find it but it was called a radiator thermo sensor, cost about 22 bucks, direct replacement and the zc uses the same one as the si, but years are different the 88 is different than the 89 etc... and the hf's and dx's use different ones also if anyone ever needs to replace one its easiest to just take it off the block and bring it on down.
