Believe me I get hassled all the time for it. I think they get a little more criticism than they might deserve. I believe they may be good for a drag muffler for WOT for 4cyl's. They seem to be made for adding to the upper power band. Other than that it blows. And blows LOUD. Between 2K and 3K up hill is downright annoying, no back pressure, just NOISE. 70MPH on a road trip makes like torture. I need something quiet and stealthy. And something that won't scrape cause we got speedbumps on the highways in PA.
i had flowmasters on my 1995 Mustang GT.. trust me if you think your droning was bad try it on a V8.. between 2-3000rpm it got very tiring on a long trip
i replaced them with a borla side exhaust system and sounds much better. flowmasters are a damn good muffler on a naturally aspirated car, but the 2 chambers are very annoying when it comes to drone. im told the 3 chambers are better about this, but rob you of a little power.
