The most unique part of my system is my sub box. I have two kenwood 12"s amplified by a kenwood amp 150x2. The box is isobaric. The box is very small with one 12" port with one sub facing out and the other sub mounted facing in directly on top of the first sub. The top subwoofer is run out of phase from the other. Hence, one sub pushes, and one sub pulls. This saves a lot of space and the bass is really tight but the box still gives a nice low rumble. There are people who say you lose output with this type of box but I noticed almost no difference between this box and my old two port. In fact, i think the bass is tighter now with the smaller box. There's this one tuner shop here in town that has a box like that. I wasn't sure what the hell it was, but what you said makes complete sense. Sounds like I'm gonna have to get that, since my single 10" sub isn't enough.

in my 1990 Accord EX, I have a Pioneer DEH6400 headunit, a Pyramid 400w amp powering my mids and highs (both pairs Pioneer, 5 1/4" up front, 6x9 in back), and a Sony Explode 760w amp powering one 10" JL Audio W3.
I have the amps mounted to a peice of wood, for now, and have it kinda wedged between my back seat and my rear strut tower bar, so if I fold down the back seat, the amps are in plain veiw. Also, it's extreemly difficult to steal them.
the sub is situated behind the passenger and driver seats, so the bass reasonates rather nicely in the interior. while it's open to theives and whatnot, nobody stolen it. yet. but like I said, it's not enough bass.
but once I get the new subs, then I worry about making my mounting job a work of art. And then I'll post some pics.
whatever you decide to buy, Just be sure that you don't get too thrifty. What you pay for is what you get.
