There are an absolute TON of facts, myths, and opinions out there about the gas issue. Everyone you ask will tell you something different, swear by what they say, but not be able to provide any concrete factual backing, except that 'their mechanic told them', or 'they read it somewhere'. You'll see what I mean when people start replying to this thread.

My personal take is this - there's no reason to run higher than 87 octane, as recommended in your owners manual. Some people say running higher octane is actually bad for the car - I haven't ever seen any evidence of that, or heard of anyone having a problem from higher octane. BUT, I don't think it's necessary or good at all to run higher octane than your engine needs, so frankly, I think you're just pouring your money out the window for no good reason.

Run 87 gas like the manual says, save your money, and forget about it.
