Never really had a problem with adhesive weights on my wheels. The only thing that I didn't like about them was when I needed the wheels rebalanced, the guy that worked at the shop didn't bother to take off all of the adhesive from the old weights (I know he didn't have to, but it would've been nice if he did). I just removed the rest of the adhesive myself. No damage to the wheel was made with the old adhesive. Just soak it in goo-gone long enough to get it off.
