I'm painting my rims tomorrow, and I was going to remove the wheel weights when I paint them...

I should just use some pliers, bend them so that they're not clipped around the rim, and pull them out?

Just making sure before I do something damn stupid, and tires are one of the things I don't like to fawk up, esp at 35 psi... never pulled wheel weights off myself too...

And having the weights clipped onto the inside part of the rim... would this work just as well? I've heard bad things about adhesive weights, so I'm exploring the possibility of using weights in an out-of-sight location...
