It definitely depends on area. I used autotrader.com when I found mine. It was at the DARCARS dealer in Rockville, the Nissan/Volvo one. They were absolutely *desperate* to be rid of the Sol - I was the only caller in like the 3 weeks they'd put it up for sale. It was taking up room in their lot they wanted to use for a 3.5SE Altima... at least, I think it was an Altima. Might have been a Maxima.

But yeah, after I expressed some initial hesitation, they immediately dropped the price, then dropped it some more. It was one of those rare rare cases where they would make a bigger profit just getting rid of one car and selling a better, new one.

All the private people I called were very shady. I tried really hard to find a VTEC, but it was impossible. The one I did find was down in Richmond VA, when I let Autotrader search within 100 miles or whatever the widest one was. The guy who answered the phone acted like he didn't even own the car, even though he was "authorized to sell it." He didn't know the mileage, either. "Somewhere around a 100 grand." VERY suspicious.

I talked to two different ladies in Hagerstown, also... one car was badly rusted and the other was above 200,000. Both of those were around June or July... I found my current car in August.
