The PepBoys in Frederick are notoriously bad. I've heard of them mismounting tires and wheels, stripping every thread you possibly could, installing things backwards, you name it. I had a friend working in the one up 355 at Milestone in Germantown, and he quit and took a job at a Honda dealership doing the same work, but with people who actually cared what they were doing, and knew how to do it.
*nod* this is the second alternator they've put in my car. I assume I'll need another new one in a few months. They say it's a design flaw but I don't know..
