2000 is pretty rough for plastic parts. its fine compared to alot of other grit papers out there but in the land of plastic its kind of course. id hit it with compound by hand until you see it start to get better. all buffing really is is exchanghing larger scratches for smaller and smaller ones. how what you have to do is make the ones you have smaller lol. try it with the compound then with the plastic polish again and see what happens.
