The insurance for a GSR will not really be that much more expensive than a non-VTEC version. Insurance companies charge out the ass for all Integras since they are the most stolen vehicle in the country. Also, you guys are treating the GSR like it's some kind of race car when it's not. Putzing around town it's just the same as an RS/LS/GS/SE until you rev it out.

Look, when I was 16 I banged up my first car in a couple of fenderbenders just like everyone else here has probably done. It's going to happen regardless of what you drive. It doesn't cost any more to do body work on a GSR and it really doesn't cost more to insure it or put gas in it. If you can convince pops to make the drive then I see no problem in going for it as long as you can exercise restraint in driving it.

The one thing I would say is that rather than buying a bunch of mods which will only encourage you to drive aggressively, drive it around nice and stock and pay the insurance. A stock GSR with a few upgrades like better tires and brake pads and such will be more than enough car for you to enjoy.
