You may see growth in your area but I know for a fact that jobs are on the decline where I am at, Taxes are on the rise, homelesness and poverty level living are increasing at an exponential rate.
You can view all the numbers you want on a national level but national levels mean little when people here have to be unemployed for another 6-8 months while the economy in their area plays catch up...on top of that plants are closing and those are jobs that cannot be regained in the near future which means a particular area stays in a recession longer than national average is going to show.
there's only one flaw with your logic.. you seem to be forgetting what kinds of jobs the jobless used to work and what got the ball rolling to eliminate those production jobs. most were factory workers. NAFTA, which was signed into being by clinton BTW, sent the majority of factory production jobs south of the rio grande. what does that mean? the jobless rate in the US increases while the next president that sees the brunt of this economic catastrophe and gets the blame for it. that was the biggest political landmine that has ever been set in the oval office in history.
