I don't subscribe to modern art either. Just because it's newer doesn't mean it is better. I think the economy is flexible enough to handle itself without government interference under most circumstances.
Secondly, I think right now the mean propensity to consume is too low for tax cuts to have any real effect on the economy. People are still uncertain and reluctant to spend.
