I haven't seen too many Cobras getting smacked around especially on the strip. There are probabily a lot of cars that "on paper" look close but in real life, you don't see too many cars handing it to the Cobra short of Vettes and exotic stuff.....especially after you start talking screwed blower modifications.
Anyway out of the box in the price range (which is what I was talking about) the WRX is the best competitor. We all know (us Ford guys at least) that once you start beefing up the Cobra engine that it can do some pretty mean things. Check this link for sports car racing "winning stories" and not just the "we can compete with you stories." Funny you should mention the horsepower thing because the driver in the Daytona win story, mentioned how you need horsepower to win at Daytona
