I have heard things like that too but dont think its for the 4th gens. think its for the newer cars, (not sure) but something about the air flow sensor reads that ther eis too much air comming in so it re calibrates the ECU to adjust the motor so you really don't gain any power. in fact you may loose something.

:dunno: just read that in a thread in HAN somewhere.

Said that to keep this from happening you had to pull the ECU fuse about every 30 days to reset the ECU so that the AFS would reset and that it took about 25-30 days for the AFS to re-calibrate the ECU.
