Most intakes use like a cotton gauze that is saturated with oil. This is how the intake gets most out of the filtration by using the oil so that little particles stick to it.

Then there is the foam type like weapon-r. Not sure if the same method is used. I don't think that oil is involved with those filters.

If you still have your older K&N filter, couldn't you just use that filter on the piping of the CP?
