hey all, i have my autometer water temp installed and my car runs pretty steady at 180 degrees F.
the fans turn on at about 185 degrees F and turn off at 178 degrees F
no bars will light between 0-131 degrees F. the first bar on the stock water temp gauge will light up when you reach between 132-161 degrees F, the second bar will light up @ 162 degrees F. i don't know when the 3rd bar will light up because my car does not get hot for it to light.
i tapped the autometer sensor into the upper radiator hose neck off of the engine side. the metal was very thin so i had to used some jb weld to help stop the leaking and hold sensor secure.... yea i know it was ghetto. it still leaks alittle though
reason i didn't put in location of stock sensor was because i wanted to keep me stock gauge working.
also i tried to use a t-fitting to have both gauges hooked up in same location but the fitting caused the sensors to give wrong reading because the t-fittings put the sensors futher away. so when the gauge said 150, i was actually at operating temp which is 180 degrees F
:naughty:
