I coulda told you all that :P and I saw it three times.
In the book I read before seeing X2, Jean didn't "die" She just used her power to make a telekinetic "copy" of herself that pushed the jet up from the ground. It also showed the agony of active and non-active mutants while Xavier was using Cerebro. This same part was when Hank McCoy erupted in blue fur, and Remy Lebeau became an active mutant in the middle of a poker game when all the cards in his hand were charged with energy and exploded in his hand. haha.
Plus, it's simple to determine that it was Siryn... Banshee is a guy...
yah... Bryan Singer actually changed the ending during production. He tried to keep the death of Jean Grey secret until the release of the film. the original script didnt call for for her death. (not death...but birth of phoenix).
it would of been awesome to see beast and gambit. if you check out the DVD deleted scenes...u get to see Jubilee charge up her powers for a short while
I knew it was Siryn....but people kept telling me it was Banshee... when i kept saying...Banshee was a guy

h: ...i confirmed and owned my buddies when the credits rolled "Siryn"
