spring/damper installs are not too bad. Just read up on it.

Coilovers are just adjustable springs. Full coilovers have built in dampers, and coilover sleeves go over your existing or aftermarket dampers.

You can get lowering springs in a number of different sizes to lower you to the level you want. These are cheaper than coilovers.

If you plan on lowering with springs or coilover sleeves, also plan to get aftermarket dampers.

If you plan to go lower than 1.5 inches, also plan to invest in a camber kit.

Remember to get an alignment after wards.
