i can't respond to #1.

#2, yes, but it also takes 3x longer in labor time to remove the control arm bolt and unhinge everything to get it to a press. whereas the price difference is less than 2x. not very efficient use of time.

#3, my shop has yet to mention my hubs needing replacements.

*shrug*

just for the sake of discussion, i'll give my mechanic shop a call and ask them "their reason(s)" for not hammering out the hub/bearings.

when it comes down to it, Honda realized its own design flaws because they eventually moved over to the rotor-over-hub design. if anyone is to blame, Honda would be the one.
