Reason to skip gears on an up shift?

simple save gas.

General Motors has managed to make the mighty vette fuel efficient by have the 1-4 skip feature. It will skip gears 2 and 3 if youre not accelerating hard. It is an annoying feature if your sorta driving hard but not really...but the principle is you keep the revs down and reduce fuel consumption.
