LSD help you in turns where open differential will cause one wheel to spin faster than another, LSD will helps to correct this and thus transfer the power (torque) to the "weaker" spinned wheel and force them to travel @ same speed.
Actually LSD will push the inner wheel out making you have to oversteer, slip diffs are just point it and punch it, if one starts slipping, who cares. It also depends what kind of LSD you're talking. LSD is the most benefit in a straight line, or possibly accelerating out of apex, again depending what kind of LSD it is. A viscous diff is nice for corning, but a locker or ratchet LSD is pretty rough in the corners it can cause unpredictable handling. I had a posi trac ratcheting diff in my 280z(with the 350 conversion) and it made cornering pretty hard, plus it was noisy as all hell, it sounded like I had a bad dogbone, but it was just the ratchet. Every single corner you'd hear a clak clak clak coming from the inside wheel, but try me in a straight line, I'd leave a pair of wavy tire marks for a 100ft.

You can always do what I did to my bel air and weld the spiders. That makes you go striaght REAL good, just don't try to turn lol.
